Annie: costume ideas!

For the purpose of providing costuming ideas, here are a few pictures to help us think about life and fashion in the 1940’s! Be creative and have fun!

A few costume items will be provided, like hats and aprons for servants, as well as “over-dresses” for the 6 speaking orphans and Annie’s attire.

Miss Hannigan, Annie, Grace, Annette or Cecille, Drake.

All servants should wear plain black tops with a black skirts below the knee; aprons and gathered hats will be provided.

Ward and MacLean: white shirt, tie, black pants, officer’s hat; stripes on sleeves.

Speaking orphans:

Orphanage chorus: dress in tattered, ill-fitting long sleeve shirts, vests and baggie pants. Choose dark colours, like gray, tan or brown.

Servants:

Stars to be. Pedestrians could dress similarly, but add an article or two like binoculars, a scarf, fancy hat, baby carriage, etc. to determine who are are!
