Glee Club reminder

Andrews of Stratford visit, Wednesday, November 1st.

Glee Club members are required to have written permission to contribute to this curriculum based activity. Please complete and return the form sent home last week. Thank you! Members are asked to dress in “just a little special”, clothes!

We’re looking forward to creating smiles, maybe a few happy tears, but, positive connections between the children and seniors. This has been the case in the past, and we anticipate the same in the future!

Thanks to all for making this offering a reality; greatly appreciated by all involved!

4. Thank you to parents, and all, for your continued support of the Glee Club and the role it plays in the life of the school children, and in the community. Meaning and a sense of belonging comes from sharing the talents we have with those around us!!! Our school has a fine tradition of setting success criteria involving Department of Education curriculum outcomes. Community engagement is but one example! We continue to strive for meaningful life experiences, cooperation and qualities that will serve students well as life-long learners. Thank you to parents, neighbours, community leaders, school teachers, administors, support staff and the children’s themselves for making this experience engaging and meaningful!!

GLEE CLUB!

The Stratford Elementary Glee Club has been established, with over 80 enthused and talented members to date! This is all so exciting!!! Included with the vocalists, are an electric guitar player, a bass guitar player, and two drummers!

We have been working on the schools’ theme song, “The Stratford Family” song, which we will perform at this years’ “Celebration Concert”, along with pieces to reinforce equality, acceptance, and celebration of all people! Already, students are singing beautifully! It’s a privilege to be hearing such beautiful voices, sharing messages of hope and happiness, in a time where challenge and conflict seem to be a daily occurrence in local and global newscasts.

To enable the smooth running of this inspirational, extra-curricular program, which covers curricular outcomes for performance, musical artistry, and community building, please take note of the items below! Thank you!!!

BEAUTY and the BEAST, 2018

Auditions for this year’s musical will be held after school, from 2:35-3:45, on Monday, October 16th, Tuesday, October 17th, and Wednesday, October 17th.

Interested students attended an information session last week, and have been returning their audition forms, indicating which after-school session is most convenient. A master list will be posted in the music room on Friday morning, based on parent preferred times.

The audition process is an exciting experience, where team-work, encouragement, and caring are encouraged and expected!

We wish the best of luck to all students, and are so pleased that many, many students are inspired to share their talents with the school community! We can’t wait for rehearsals to begin!!!
